<p>The American Platinum Eagle Coins come in 1/10, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 troy ounce of .9995 fine platinum. The coins values are $10, $25, $50 and $100 respectively. <span id="more-79"></span></p>
<p>For avid coin collectors, the American Platinum Eagle Coins are also made in proof and uncirculated mintage. The American Platinum Eagle Coins are extremely unique as they are the only coins that has a different design on the reverse side that changes annually. Additionally, these coins are considered to be a commodity versus a rare coin. For that reason, the American Platinum Eagle Coins can be put into person's Individual Retirement Account.</p>
<p>From the years of 1998-2002, the proof's reverse design was entitled, "Vistas of Liberty". On these editions, the American Bald Eagle is depicted in various places in the United States or in a theme representing the United States. For the years of 1997, 1998 and 2001, Thomas D. Rogers was the engraver. Al Maletsky was the engraver for the years 1999, 2000 and 2002. Maletsky also engraved the coin for 2003 and Donna Weaver was the engraver for 2004 and 2005.</p>
<p>During the years of 2006-2008, the American Platinum Eagle Coins had the theme of "The Foundations of Democracy" that depicted the three branches of government. The engravers were Don Everhart for 2006, Phebe Hemphill for 2007 and Charles Vickers for 2008.</p>

<p>2001: A bald eagle flyer over a large Saguaro cacti of the Southwest</p>
<p>2002: A bald eagle swooping down on a lake with snow capped moutains and trees in the Northwest</p>
<p>2003: A eagle perched on a Rocky Mountain pine branch with an American Flag in the background</p>
<p>2004: A design inspired by Daniel Chester French's sculpture titled "America" outside the United States Customs House in New York City</p>
<p>2005: An American Bald Eagle perched on a heraldic sheild that depicts the symbols of American strength and beauty</p>
<p>2006: The "Legislative Muse", protected by two eagles sitting on columns that represent the two houses of Congress</p>
<p>2007: An American Bald Eagle representing the Executive Branch of government</p>
<p>2008: "Lady Justice" being protected by an American Bald Eagle in the background</p>
